In response to my previous blogs, I can really see where you are coming from Safvan. I really forgot about all the test we had to complete in order to obtain our license. I had to take a test in order to get my permit. It used to
be where if you had your permit you just had to wait a year and a day and then you were eligible for your license. Now you have to take a driver's education course called Joshua's Law and we still had to wait a year and a day. I' m not being mean and saying take all the "old people" off the road. They should be allowed to take a test to determine if they are still eligible to drive. They ought to even be allowed to take a retest if they don't do well on it the first time. According to the article, "Should elderly drivers be retested," drivers in Washington, DC require that after the age 70 their drivers must take a vision and reaction test.

Get Granny From Behind The Wheel
In response to my first blog, I agree with all of you. I can really understand you. Yes, it is wrong to take the license of the elderly who are in healthy conditions. My grandmother is pushing 75 and she is still driving. She works part time, cooks, keeps up her garden, and attends as many sports events as she can. Her main problem is driving under the speed limit.
She can also be hazardous to those who are driving the speed limit. However, there are still many elderly drivers who are trying to beat the system. In Manuel’s article he made a valuable point about renewing your license. He stated, “So if when anyone turns 21, they go and renew their license they can get it for 10 years. That means that they will renew it again at 31, 41, 51, and 61.” Unfortunately, the law has changed for the state of Georgia. According to the Georgia Department of Driver Services you can only renew your license for either 5 or 8 years. I believe that this change is due to the fact of unsafely drivers. In the article, Elderly Drivers-Is Your Loved One Driving Safely, there is a list of signs for a person to checkout to make sure that their driving is safe. In some states there is a required driving retest that for drivers over 70 if they are involved in two or more car accidents. I however feel as if this may be too late. It only takes one accident for some to be seriously injured or worse killed.

Get Granny From Behind The Wheel
Let's be honest, how many times have you driven down the road and was stuck behind a slow moving car? You immediately have to stomp on your brakes to keep from hitting the car. That's when you realize it is a little old lady or man just poking along on the road. There is a required age to recive your driver's license and I feel that there should be a limit on the age when your license can be revoked. There are a lot of older people
that can barely see or hear, but are quick to get behind the wheel of a car. According to an article, Older Drivers, Elderly Driving, Seniors ar the Wheel, "Research on an age-related driving concerns has shown that at around the age of 65, drivers face an increased risk of being involved in a vehicle crash." Their reflexes and response times are at a slower rate. They don't realize all the harm and danger they are putting themselves and others in. There is a joke from a website that supposedly interput the risk elderly people but themselves in. In the joke the old lady thought that the high way signs were the speed limit signs. This right here should be evidence enough of why we shoul "get granny from behind the wheel".
