Is Buying Adderall as a Study Aid Feeding a Drug Addiction?

In my last posting, I talked about how Adderall was becoming a popular drug especially throughout colleges, with late night cramming for tests and exams. Do to many comments on my last post. It is clear to me that many people understand that Adderall can be bad for you, but many feel like the addiction is maintained by self-control. I beg to differ, in the fact that Adderall use can “slide easily from abuse to addiction because of the was the drug acts on the brain.”

Adderall is prescribed in order to restore balance to certain natural substances in the brain. Taking it can cause side effects like weight loss, dizziness, dry mouth, and high blood pressure. Adderall stimulates a part of the brain and causes a release of neurotransmitters. The problem is the same stimulants prevent neurotransmitters from being used normally by brain cells, so the user feels the need to take more Adderall to recreate the rush. Some signs of addiction are increasing tolerance to the drug, which makes it necessary to take more Adderall. Dependence on taking Adderall simply to feel good, and making access to Adderall a priority ahead of other concerns such as friends or work

College crack” also referred to as Adderall can have long-term consequences for abuse users. It can increase the likelihood of other addiction along with on going symptoms even after the use of the drug has stopped. So what is safe to use instead of Adderall? There has been a new study that B vitamins are a lacking deficiency in our bodies. Vitamin B helps functions the "brain and central nervous system." Do not take Adderall for granted it is a drug and can have many effects on the body now or along the road.

  1. As with any drug, constantly consuming the drug can cause addiction, and harm the body in many ways. As I was surfing the web I came across a web site http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000166, that states The combination of extroamphetamine and amphetamine can also cause addiction to this drug. You blog was quite interesting and easy to relate to considering we are college student. I like the fact that you related to something most, if not all college students have issues with, craming. Although i was expecting to see more of the side affects of the drug, and what it actually does to the body, i was still quite impressed.

  2. As brittany stated, "IMPRESSIVE". Honestly, I never of Adderall...This is very informing and you give good information. Personally, I haven't taken any drugs to help with cramming, but I know some people that have. They are now in mental institutions and rehab. People never really know when they are getting addicted to something. Your blog really caught my attention. That's good. And You are getting your point across.
